GRANITE QUARRY — NC State freshman and East Rowan graduate Sadie Featherstone received her ring Friday for winning the 300 hurdles in the 3A State Championships in her final race for the Mustangs.
Featherstone won that state title by seven-hundreths of a second, running a super time of 43.32 seconds and opening the door for her to be offered by NC State’s track program.
Featherstone was East’s first state champion in a hurdling event.
Featherstone, who starred in cross country, basketball, indoor track and outdoor track for the Mustangs, was the Tracy Connor Award winner as Rowan County’s top female athlete for the 2024-25 school year.
