A Salisbury woman died in a wreck just outside of Statesville Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on Bell Farm Road near the Farmwood Drive intersection in eastern Iredell County.
A Toyota Camry was travelling north on Bell Farm Road when it drove off the roadway and overcorrected, crossing into the southbound lane of travel and colliding with a BMW X1, according to a release from the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
Nineteen-year-old Brianna Brown, the driver of the Camry, succumbed to the injuries caused by the crash. Brown was a Salisbury resident.
After the news broke, multiple people and churches began to share their sympathies for the Brown family. Brown was a singer and songwriter who performed at and was a part of multiple churches throughout the area both alone and as part of a family group, The Brown Family.
“Brianna was a gifted young lady whose life reflected her faith. Through her beautiful talents — playing the piano and singing — she worshiped the Lord sincerely and pointed others to Him. Her music was not for performance, but for praise, and many were blessed by her willingness to use what God had given her for His glory,” wrote Calvary Baptist Church of Union Grove in a Facebook post.
The driver of the BMW, 53-year-old Florence Crawford-Randall, was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in stable condition. Two juvenile passengers from the BMW were transported to Brenner Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
There will be no charges in the wreck, according to the release.
