The Concord Police Department arrested 17-year-old Jamere Rhashedt Wright of Kannapolis and charged him as an adult for shooting into an occupied vehicle, according to a Tuesday press release.
The incident reportedly occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store and eatery, located at 300 Church St. N, Concord. The release indicated that Wright is the only suspect and alleged shooter, adding that “no one was injured during the isolated incident. “
Authorities responded to report of shots fired on Monday at 12:42 p.m. Wright was inside the store when a vehicle with a single occupant pulled into the parking lot. At that time, Wright allegedly stepped outside the door and shot towards the occupied vehicle as it was attempting to park.
Investigators do not believe the shooting was random. No one was injured.
Wright reportedly fled the scene and was apprehended by police after a brief foot chase.
