CHARLOTTE — A.L. Brown’s girls got their first conference win in quite a while, as they opened Greater Metro Conference play with a 68-52 victory at Harding.
London Gray poured in 27, including 7-for-10 from the foul line, for the Wonders (5-3, 1-0), who have been on roll of late.
Michaela Buster scored 16. Alauna Massey had 12 to help beat the Rams (0-6, 0-1).
“Ugly first half, but we played a lot better in the second half,” A.L. Brown coach Kayla Crayton said.
Things got a little heated in Harding’s auxiliary gym. Crayton got a technical foul.

KERNERSVILLE — North Rowan trailed 45-11 at the half and lost 54-21 at East Forsyth on Friday.
North (1-6) shot 6-for-43 from the field. Kanya Cowan scored six for the Cavaliers.
The bright spot for North was 14 rebounds by Zakiya Oglesby. Camonie Council had four steals.
“Not a good showing by us, but East Forsyth is a big school and we’ll learn from it,” North head coach Jarvis Miller said.
Rajnae Bethea led the Eagles (5-3) with 12 points.
