SALISBURY — A man wanted for murder in Washington, D.C. was arrested in northern Rowan County last week.
On Thursday, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was asked to assist U.S. Marshals with locating and arresting Edgar Eugene Arrington, who was believed to have family ties to the area. Arrington was wanted for a murder that occurred in Washington, D.C. on July 5.
Arrington was located and arrested at a home on Spence Drive, just off of Old Mocksville Road, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. He was reportedly turned to the U.S. Marshals at the scene.
“These types of operations highlight the great working relationships between the Sheriff’s Office and Federal Agencies like the U.S. Marshals,” wrote the sheriff’s office in the release.
