GRANITE QUARRY — Leigan Lusk had a career day with 21 kills and sparked East Rowan to a stunning South Piedmont Conference win against Carson on Tuesday.
East won in four — 26-24, 17-25, 25-18 and 25-19.
The Cougars (17-3, 8-1) had not lost since very early in the season and had looked likely to run the table in the SPC.
East (13-9, 7-2) has been strong in recent weeks after losing its first meeting with Carson as well as its first match, a five-setter, with South Rowan. The Raiders have lost only to Carson in the league.
Lusk added four blocks to her big effort.
Alli Corl had 17 kills and 12 digs. Ava Alderman had three aces.
Jordan Dry had 24 digs and was perfect receiving serve (38 receptions, no errors).
Rylei Minton had 10 digs.
Jacee Eudy made the sets for Lusk and Corl and racked up 46 assists.
