SPENCER — It was 34-0 faster than you can say Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy, as North Rowan celebrated homecoming with a 59-0 romp against the overmatched Eagles from Huntersville.
Bonnie Cone (0-5, 0-2), like Mountain Island Charter and Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, competes in the Yadkin Valley Conference only in football.
North (2-3, 2-0) scored another special teams touchdown. This time it was a Jaiden Brown punt return of 42 yards.
North handled a weather delay with no major problems.
Mike Alford had a perfect night passing — 6-for-6 for 209 yards and two TDs. A’son Best’s three catches went for 108 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown. Dyaon Norman-Jackson piled up 90 yards on two catches. Khi Walker caught an 11-yard TD pass.
Jo Jo Tarver led North’s ground attack with seven carries for 126 yards. He had TD runs of 48 and 15 yards and added a 2-point conversion.
Tarver also had an interception.
Brandon Clodfelter produced 63 yards on five carries and put the ball in the end zone twice.
Jordin Moreno kicked three PATs.
