SALISBURY — Salisbury and Concord battled to a 1-all tie on Tuesday at Ludwig Stadium.
Everyone, including Salisbury coach Matt Parrish, has said the Spiders are the team to beat in the South Piedmont Conference, so the Hornets will cheerfully take the deadlock after scrapping Concord for 100 intense minutes.
Concord doesn’t mind the draw, either, as it keeps the Spiders (11-3-2, 6-0-1) in first place by a slim margin over the Hornets (9-0-5, 5-0-2). Salisbury tied surging Robinson last week.
Salisbury keeper Finnegan Avery made some superhero saves to keep it 1-1.
Concord scored first on a goal by Aldahir Sanchez, He scored on a free kick in the 38th minute for a 1-0 halftime lead.
Abdul Eliwa scored another brilliant goal for the Hornets in the 63rd minute.
