Brevard’s CP Pyle ended the season in the USA South Tournament, playing at McCrary Park in Asheboro.
Pyle, who starred at Carson and for the Rowan County American Legion team, played two seasons at Caldwell Community College before transferring to Brevard.
Pyle played right field or center field and led off for the Tornados (17-23-1), so he had the same role as Deal has for Methodist. Pyle batted .300 during the regular season. He was second on the team with 37 runs and third in hits with 45. He also walked 25 times.
Pyle had three hits and scored two runs in Brevard’s 11-4 win against Pfeiffer on Thursday. That was their final win of the season.
Brevard lost twice to Greensboro on Friday, 8-4 and 16-5, to end the season.

Pyle and Deal have at least one more thing in common besides being lead-off men and outfielders in the same conference. Both were high school running backs.
