SPENCER – North Rowan’s boys won Thursday’s four-team Yadkin Valley Conference track meet.
The Cavaliers scored 191 points to top Albemarle (174), Union Academy (111) and Gray Stone (70).
Myles Witherspoon won three events, taking the 110 meter hurdles (14.99 seconds), 300 hurdles (44.71) and high jump (5 feet, 8 inches).
Shakeel Monroe Jr. won the 200 meters (22.53) and was second in the 100.
Nicholas Morrow led a 1-2-3 finish by the Cavaliers in the 400 meters (51.70).
KeKe Carpenter won the long jump (20-7) and the triple jump (45-1),
Brenden Ellis had an impactful day, as he had four second places in the long and triple jumps, the discus and the shot put.
North won the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

In the girls meet, North’s Ty’Tiana Clemons won the 300 hurdles (52.08).
Amiyah Stevenson won the 100 (13.36), leading a 1-2-3 finish for the Cavaliers. Lavierah Walker won the 200 (27.71).
Nayzizh Ingram won the shot put (24-6).
North won the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays.
North Rowan scored 151 points to finish second to Union Academy (195). Albemarle scored 83, while Gray Stone had 63.
