SALISBURY — If Catawba had been able to play every football game this season on Kirkland Field at Shuford Stadium the Indians might be 10-0 right now.
The Indians maxed out at home, going 6-0 in Salisbury. They rolled over Anderson 44-20 on Saturday, piling up 495 yards of offense and going 9-for-12 on third-down conversions.
Catawba honored the seniors, celebrated a new Hall of Fame class and moved to 7-3 on the season, including 5-3 in the South Atlantic Conference.
The Indians led 30-10 at halftime.
Anderson QB Wilson Edwards threw for 213 yards and helped the Trojans (5-6, 3-6) make a respectable showing, but he was sacked four times.
Catawba overcame 100 yards in penalties, as Preston Brown threw for 230 yards and three scores.
Marquece Williams scored three touchdowns for the Indians, one on a run and two via receptions.
Kevin Lalin rushed for 126 yards and a TD. Kevon Rivera punched in two short TDs.
A second-year program, Anderson increased its win total from three in 2024 to five this season.
Catawba still has a game to play at Lenoir-Rhyne next Saturday.
