
SALISBURY — A young man, possibly between 18 and 22, was shot in the chest shortly after 4:30 p.m.Tuesday according to Salisbury police.
Officers were called about 4:45 p.m. to the 1300 block of Tabernacle Street near Forney Street for a shooting. On arrival, officers found the young man with injuries from gunshots.
Police said the victim was conscious and alert at the scene before being taken to an area hospital by ambulance. The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.
The Salisbury Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to the scene and is engaged in an active investigation. Officers are still in the area gathering evidence and speaking with potential witnesses, and ask anyone with information to please reach out to an officer.
