From staff reports
Wednesday games …
TRINITY — Salisbury went on the road and defeated Trinity 3-0 in non-conference action.
Addie Griffith recorded two goals and an assist for the Hornets, who improved to 13-3-1 overall on the season.
Maddie Crabb scored the final goal for Salisbury. Sophomore Stephany Quintero had two assists.
Taylor Brown recorded nine saves in goal in a standout effort.
“It was an amazing effort for our squad,” Salisbury head coach Matt Parrish said. “Going into a hostile environment, on the hottest day of the year, following a match like the one we had Monday at Lexington gave us a plethora of excuses against a team that plays in a very stout conference. We came out strong, followed the game plan, and executed. Coach Goodman and I have tried to get players to ‘do your job’ all year long … and tonight we really put it together. Again, I’m super proud of the girls. Ordinarily, I’d try to point out a few girls that played exceptionally well. Tonight, I think that the word team is the most important thing to recognize.”
Next up for the Hornets is a CCC double dip, home games on Monday (North Rowan) and Tuesday (Thomasville).
